About Fielding Callaway

Dr. Callaway is a fellowship trained, orthopedic spine surgeon who specializes in both surgical and nonoperative management of spine conditions. He has a special interest in providing the least invasive approach to manage the patient’s condition and has special training in minimally invasive spine surgical techniques, robotic spine surgery, and motion preservation.

Dr. Callaway graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Georgia. He then completed medical school at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies. He moved to Augusta, GA for orthopedic surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia. Following residency, he continued his spine surgery training as a fellow at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, NC.

Academically, Dr. Callaway has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific research articles and he presents his research at both local and national meetings. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), North American Spine Society (NASS), AOSpine North America, and Georgia Orthopaedic Society (GOS).

He is excited to return to his medical school alma mater and wife Alden’s hometown of Macon with their two sons, Beau and Lake.
