STEAM Awards

The Hughston Clinic proudly supports the top six STEAM Awards with a total of $5,000. The Hughston Clinic has generously supported the Foundation’s Art Gala to encourage Georgia’s middle and high school students to continue their interests in arts and sciences. The Hughston’s mission is based upon research and education. Medical illustration plays a vital role in helping to carryout this mission through patient care, public relations, and marketing efforts.

Two of the STEAM Awards worth $350 each are sponsored by Georgia Healthcare Science Technology Education Foundation (GAHSTEF). One presented to the third place middle school aged student, 6th to 8th grades, and the 2nd and another is presented to the third place high school aged student, 9th to 12th grades.

The GAHSTEF objective is to support the high standards of education and training in Georgia’s high school and middle school Healthcare Science programs by providing resources, opportunities, and support to students and teachers. Our goal is to partner with the Georgia Department of Education and other organizations and healthcare related business and industry to help meet this objective.
