Bridging the gap between research, education, and treatment
At Hughston Innovation, we bridge the gap between research, education, and treatment by developing testing therapeutic strategies and clinical techniques that progress from the lab to the clinic using proven treatment protocols. In doing so, we make a smooth transformation between research investigations to real, life-changing treatments for patients.
In our research, we strive to understand the biomechanics, regeneration, and healing capabilities of the body. We focus on all aspects of musculoskeletal biology—including the tissue, cellular, and molecular levels—with the intent of solving problems through the study of diseases and disorders that plague orthopaedic patients, such as, but not limited to, infection, osteoporosis, and osteoarthritis.
We have the unique ability to bring together researchers across the spectrum of musculoskeletal science, which includes translational scientists, pathologists, orthopaedic surgeons, traumatologist, physical therapists, radiologists, neuroscientists, and biostatisticians. We also train future leaders by involving orthopaedic fellows, orthopaedic residents, and medical students in our research endeavors.
We seek to create sound treatments, surgical techniques, and orthopaedic devices that improve the care for patients who experience a range of musculoskeletal disorders with the ultimate goal of bringing new concepts to the marketplace.
