HISTORY: Hughston Clinic was founded by Dr. Jack C. Hughston (1917-2004) in 1949. In 1984, he achieved his dream of focusing primarily on sports injuries with the opening of Hughston Sports Medicine Hospital, the first facility of its kind in the country. Dr. Hughston also made significant contributions to the study and advancement of sports medicine and orthopaedics with the establishment of a postdoctoral fellowship, as well as the Hughston Foundation, which was designed to promote advances in sports medicine and orthopaedics through research, education and communication.
