Dr. Gregg Motz is retiring at the end of the month, and his care and presence will be missed at Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics.

“I have thoroughly loved being an orthopedic surgeon and serving and living in Hendersonville. Orthopedic surgery has given me the chance to help an enormous number of patients, many of whom became friends and not just patients. I always tried to treat my patients how I wanted to be treated, talk to them in a way they could understand their problem well, and feel good about their treatment plan. I developed the Hendersonville Care Center, when I was recruited by Premier Orthopedics in 2003 to open a new center, with those same thoughts in mind. I will miss the challenges of solving problems and learning new surgical techniques. I will miss performing surgery, and miss my employees, patients, and partners tremendously, but it is time to concentrate on the roles of husband, father, and now father-in-law, and hopefully grandfather in the future. My family and my employees have been saints to allow me to do what we have to do as orthopedic surgeons, and I can’t thank them enough. To all of the patients who sent me their friends and family members over the years, it is truly humbling to have earned your trust. I always wish I could do/have done more, but it is time. There are fish that need to be caught and golf holes that need to be bogeyed.” – Gregg A. Motz, MD
